Circumcision
​Circumcision is a surgical procedure that removes the foreskin covering the head of the penis. This procedure is commonly performed on newborns for medical, religious, or cultural reasons. The procedure is typically done within the first few weeks of life, under local anesthesia, and usually takes about 10-15 minutes.​

General Information:
Eligibility Criteria:
Full-term infant (38 weeks gestation or older) or has been approved by Dr. Truong on a case-by-case basis if <38 weeks.

Less than 4 weeks old.

Received Vitamin K administration at birth.

No family history of bleeding disorders.
Procedure and Cost Information:
The cost of the circumcision procedure is $700, which includes:

Consultation.

The procedure itself.

A follow-up visit 2-3 weeks after the procedure.

Insurance Information: It is your responsibility to contact your insurance provider to determine if the circumcision procedure is a covered service.

The CPT code for the procedure is 54150 (Circumcision, using clamp or other device).

The ICD-10 code is Z41.2 (Encounter for routine and ritual circumcision).

If the procedure is covered by your insurance, Mercer Island Pediatrics will bill your insurance directly.

If the procedure is not covered by my insurance, you will agree to pay the $700 out-of-pocket cost in full prior to the procedure.
